Sorry if this has been beaten to death, just every post I've seen focused on the concealability of the P vs the C2 and not the differences in shootability, which is what I'm really curious about. Especially if someone has shot the older STIs side by side with the new Staccato P and disagrees with my assessment that they would be too similar.Įnough rambling for now. Again, I'm thinking with STIs I already have, the P could be redundant and the C2 could be more different and exciting, but I'm very open to suggestions.

So while the compact guns might have a slightly sharper feel to their recoil, I can sometimes shoot them faster with a little work, which I really enjoy.Īnyway, to get to my point, I am 90% sure I want a C2 but I'm looking for opinions from folks that have the C2 and the P regarding the shootability and if the C2 is still fun to shoot knowing what you know about both. I find that in my experience, shorter slides and barrels tend to cycle faster and can sometimes be faster back on target for me than larger framed guns which can have more muzzle rise in my experience. I also love shooting my compact guns (P320 x compact, P229, Glock 45, M&P 2.0).

I am leaning C2 because I think it would be significantly more different from my DVC 3 and my DVC P than the new Staccato P would be. It is the easiest shooting pistol I've ever shot. I absolutely love both guns and won my division league at my local club with the DVC P. I already own a 2019 STI DVC 3 with a 5" bull barrel, and a 2019 STI DVC P with a 5" compensated barrel (these are basically now the XL and XC respectively). So this purchase of a P or C2 would primarily be for training and range fun. I MIGHT consider carrying a C2 but more than likely not since I have had good luck with my P365. I understand that the P will likely be softer shooting because it's a heavier steel frame with a longer slide and barrel. I am on the cusp of purchasing a C2 DPO, but I'm interested in checking with folks that have both the C2 and P as I could also be open to considering the P DUO. I have a home range and primarily shoot steel, and I like to go fast in sort of an action pistol or tactical sense.įor concealed carry, I use a Sig P365 XL because I'm a small dude.

I have a LOT of pistols, full size, competition style and compact. I hate making such a similar post to some of the other recent ones but I also didn't want to hijack others' posts by taking the conversation in a different direction.ĭuring non ammo shortages I shoot a decent amount, several thousand rounds a year, and I compete at a local club.
